So, might as well write what could well be my very first journal entry on the internet ever. I say could well be due to the fact that I don't exactly remember if I've ever created a journal entry before. In any case, if I did, it certainly wasn't memorable was it?

So our dear friend John has done a very nice overhaul on the photo album section! The best part is he isn't even done with the revisions, and I'm already happy with the improvements. To celebrate the event, and because a select few told me how they liked the art I have as my background and in other things I've shown, I have decided to add a few pieces of my "Art" to my photo album.

You'll find these works under the album name "Fragments." Now, starting with Spirit I, these are the first samples of what I like to call my "style", if such a term is called for. I've done all my art in Paint, yes, standard, old-fashioned, Paint. It's amazing what a few simple tools can do...

I never intended to make many of these. I was just goofing off one afternoon in Paint instead of doing homework, and I liked what I saw. There are 19 of these "Spirits" so far, that's well over the course of, oh hell, I'd say 3 years? I make them sporadically. I'm not a real artistic person...but this seems to be one mode of expression that comes easily to me. So, many of these pieces reflect an emotion. Not all, but some.

If I were to describe these pictures in any particular way, I'd have to say they represent two things. First off, they represent some emotion or symbolize some aspect of being to me. That's more of a personal interpretation though. Secondly, they're like ink blots. I've had friends and family look at them and tell me what they thought. I've gotten quite a few varied responses. These pictures really are nothing more than a random scribble that has been manipulated into the final product. So, they are both organic in their randomness, as well as being geometric in their symmetry...well for most of them anyway. Spirit V is an exception, I tried something new, kept it, but didn't keep the style.

Will I make more? I'd say yes, Spirit XIX was done not even a month ago. This is the first time I've ever put them on a site, save for when I incorporated them in an avatar or signature on a website. Anyway, hope you guys enjoy browsing, and if you have any questions on them feel free to ask.
